| Your letter of the 20th inst, in reference
to the propriety of paying Acting Officers of Eng Troops out of the
funds of the Bureau in your hands, has been received. The Quarter Master
General has been authorized & instructed by the Hon Secy of War to
provide for the payment of those officers and they ought consequently
under these instructions, to apply to the Quarter Master of the command
with which they are at the time serving. |
