| Enclosed you will
find, returned, a letter from the Supt of the South Side R. R. left at
this Bureau some days ago by one of your assistants, in reference to
the detail of Mr. H. F. Bardwell for the proposed repair of this road.
Mr. Bardwell is not in any way connected with the Engineer Service and
I have personally no knowledge of him, but think I have heard him
favorably spoken of as a civil engineer. |
