| The Maj Genl Comdg directs
that you detail pvt Paul Gleason Co. G 22d Va Regt with one additional
stone mason & five carpenters from your comd, to report immediately to
Mr Richardson, Engineer in charge of Cowpastur River Bridge. Gleason can
probably furnish the names of suitable men. You will also place a
sufficient force on the road from Covington to Lewisburg to put it in
good repair. The details above directed will be for temporary duty only.
The Maj Genl Comdg desires to open the communication with the
{Virginia} Central R. R. at its nearest
point with as little delay as possible. |
