| There is great need for spikes
in the Engineer Dept. of this Dist. The Maj Genl Comdg directs that if
you can find any about Monroe belonging to the Vicksburg, Shreveport &
Texas R Rd Co. that you will take them, and send them to Capt. C. H.
Boyd Chief Engineer at Fort DeRussy. if this letter is in time to make
you to send them by any boat coming round into Red River. If not in
time, you will secure the spikes any how, and notify Hd. Qrs of it, so
that they can be sent for when opportunity offers. |
