Col A. M. Gentry
Presdt of T. N. O. R. R.  {Texas & New Orleans RR}

Sir,
   I am instructed by the Maj Gen Comdg to inform you that he has heard of the conduct of one of your officials at Houston in telling Col Buchel that the train would leave in ten minutes, when it did not leave for two hours and more and the General indifference exhibited by him in regard to the movement of the train. Also of the indifference amounting to an indifference of the Engineer in charge of the train as to its progress. He instructs me to say to you if these individuals value their lives, and do not wish to be impressed and tried for treason for this delay in giving aid and comfort to the enemy, they had better be more careful in future and amend their conduct promptly. You will also send at once to this place all the negroes you have on your road.
Very Respectfully
Your Obt Sevrt
