| I am instructed by Ma Genl
Magruder to represent to you the pressing want for rail road iron in
this Sub District, and to say that you will at once take steps to
procure a supply of these articles (ram rods); or, if this cannot be
done that you purchase the material for making the same & forward it to
Houston as soon as possible. |
| It requires a small iron rod
for this purpose. The labor of beating out long iron rods is too great. |
