I am instructed by Maj Gen Magruder to say that it is his
desire that you will release the five negroes belonging to Mr A.
Underwood of Brazoria County, now at work under your charge, if it can
possibly be done without detriment to the service, in order that they
may be employed by him in getting up cross ties for the Brazoria RR
{Houston Tap & Brazoria RR}. The Road is
very much in need of new ties and Mr Underwood has agreed to furnish
them. |
