| Owing to the numerous details made upon the
different commands in this Dept. the following order is published for
the information of all concerned: |
| 1. All Staff, Engineer or Line Officers,
Provost Marshals, Commanders of Camps, Arsenals or Posts, Contractors,
Superintendents of Rail Roads, Manufacturers, or any other parties
whatsoever requiring details for any period during the coming year will
file with these Head Quarters, on or before the 1st January 1864,
applications for such details, stating the Company and Regiment of each
man required, period for which the detail is needed, for what purpose
the detail is asked, and, if for extension, how long the detail has
already been granted. |
| 2. All details made prior to the 1st Sept
1863 (except those of the Signal Corps) by any authority whatsoever,
except the order of the War Dept. are revoked, to take effect the 31st
Dec. 1863. |
| 3. District Commanders will see to the
prompt return to duty with their respective commands, after 31st Dec
'63, of all men detailed prior to 1st Sept 1863. |
| 4. Any officer or person whatsoever
desiring the return to his Company of any detailed man or men will
signify the same in writing to these Hd Qrs. |
