Hd Qrs Mil. Dis. of Florida
Camp Milton March 29th 1864

Lieut. Sineath

Lieut.,
I am directed by the Major Gen. Comdg to communicate to you the following orders for your guidance in the discharge of the duties assigned you. *
II. You will examine thoroughly and allow no soldiers to carry off with him his arms or any Government property, unless a permit to do so be specified in his pass.
   * I. You will with the guard detailed with you travel upon the train from this camp to Lake City {Florida, Atlantic & Gulf Central RR}, and return with it regularly.
III. You will allow no disorder upon the cars, no firing, no smoking, in the car with ladies, no spitting upon the floor, or accumulation of dirt in the same by soldiers, the object being to cooperate with the officers of the R. R. (where attention has been especially called to this matter) in establishing a system of cleanliness, in place of the one of filth now existing. You will suppress all undue boisterous clamor, all blasphemy and vulgarity in conversation, now so offensive to ladies traveling and equally so to all rules of propriety.
IV. You will allow no soldier to pass upon the cars from this camp or any station without the requisite permit from the proper military authority; and you will allow no civilian to come to this Hd. Qrs. or to this Army, without a permit from the commanding officer at one of the various points upon the line of the Rail Road. You are authorized to arrest, upon suspicion, any party, and send him to these Hd. Qrs. even if he have a pass; and generally to exercise a full discretion in accomplishing the purpose of these orders.
   V. A close searching examination of all permits and passports is required of you, and an energetic and firm exercise of the authority confided to you is expected.
Very Respectfully
Your obt servt
