Captain,
   In accordance with instructions from Lt. Genl Hardee, you will take charge of Co's D and F, 29th Ga. Battn Cavy, and proceed with all possible dispatch to Quitman, thence by rail to the bridge over the Altamaha River, on the Savannah, Albany & Gulf R. R. Upon arrival at the bridge, report immediately, by telegraph to Lt. Genl. Hardee, Savannah, Ga. for further instructions. It is very necessary that you reach the bridge over the Altamaha with your command at the earliest moment.
   Two days rations of hard bread and bacon will be issued to your command at Madison. When you arrive at the first telegraph station on the Savannah, Alabama & Gulf R. R., send a dispatch to Genl. Hardee, at Savannah, stating that oi are on the way to the bridge with your command, a well as about what time you will arrive at the bridge.
