Maj. Genl. Lee

General,
The General desires information from you respecting the movements of the enemy. Report by courier every six hours and oftener if necessary until troops and trains are over the River. The Genl. goes to Demopolis today via Lewis' Ferry. You might communicate by wire.
If you have an extra operator and magnet send them to McDowell's Landing where the engines are being crossed. The troops and field transportation cross at Lewis' Ferry.
Very Respy Genl
