I certify that 1223 bars of Rail Road iron were appropriated by my orders for the protection of the batteries and magazines on St Simons & Tekyl Islands, Brunswick Harbor; and that during my charge of the works a portion of this iron, how much I cannot properly say, was used for the purposes for which it was appropriated. The remainder was at the orders of General Mercer who succeeded me in charge.
