| Resolved that A. M. Goodwin Treasurer of
this company be and he is hereby constituted the agent of this Company
to receive from the Confederate States and receipt for all money which
this Company are or may be entitled to receive from the government
under the act of Congress approved October 1862 making appropriation
for the construction of a Rail Road from Blue Mountain in this state
to Rome Georgia, and that the act of said Treasurer in receiving and
accepting for Sixty Thousand Dollars of said appropriation under
certificate of Capt L P Grant of Engineer Corps be and the same is
hereby certified and approved |
| I Thos A Walker President of the Alabama
and Tennessee River Rail Road Company hereby certify that the
foregoing is a true transcript of a resolution adopted by the board of
Directors of Said Company on the 23rd day of December 1863 as appears
from the minutes of the Company. |
| In Testimony whereof I have hereunto sat
my hand and caused the Seal of the said Company to be hereto affixed
this 24th December 1863. |
