| Dear Sir, |
| Understanding that you have again been
appointed Agent of Transportation of the Virginia C RRd Compy, I write
to ask whether it is your purpose again to resume the transportation of
freight now lacking on said Road & if so, when, as I learn from frequent
inquiry of late that no freight has been recd or sent from the Depot at
LCK & the agent there is unable to give me any useful material on the
subject I therefore address you. We all ??? thrashing our crops of wheat
often is important that we be informed whether we can rely on the Road
as heretofore for the transportation of our crops to market or whether
the conveyance of soldiers will require the whole capacity of your Road
& compel us to load our wheat to the ??? of ??? ??? by Canal, I had
supposed that the transporting power of the Compy was more than
sufficient to transport all the soldiers required by our army of that
prossibly & also to at least do aga?? I will in the freight business.
Which be of great concern to the Farmers. I do not think there is any
importance to pass. The wheat Crop in Market of that the Road might be
unabled to take it off in any very c{remaining 6
lines of the original letter cannot be transcribed in any way that makes
