| Dear Sir, |
| Upon consultation with our President, he
directs me to say, that we cannot maintain the Rail Road Offices,
therefore we prefer that you shall pay them their Salaries &c as
heretofore, your Company receiving the receipts taken in at those
offices for the Central line proper. |
| You will instruct all of these Offices
that on and after tomorrow, (or any day you may be pleased to designate)
they will be under the control of the Southern Telegraph Companies and
subject to the orders of the Officers thereof. I expect to go up your
Road tomorrow morning, and if you issue the order, will inspect those
Offices and give the Operators such instructions as will insure
promptness and diligence on the part of all. |
