Sir,
I learn that my machinists and other mechanic are included in the call for the militia.
The inevitable effect of this will be to stop transportation on this Road in a short time.
The Engines and Cars are now taxed to their utmost and I cannot continue to transport troops and munitions without a night and day force continually at work.
I hope this matter will attract your attention and that it is possible to relieve those men from military duty.
Very Respectfully
Your Ob Sevt
H D Whitcomb
