Dear Sir, |
We have yours 15th Inst. We have a Car
Spring Factory here, but their stock of Rubber is exhausted & the
Blockade prevents the coming into New Orleans or other Southern Port.
As to the Locomotive tires: that can be arranged. Some of the
principal Roads including the Baltimore & Ohio use the Cast Iron
Chill tire in preference to any other. There we are preparing to make
& ??? as we get off some of our order for the defence of the
Country which now engages our every thought, we will turn our
attention to other subjects & think we can supply many articles
heretofore obtained at the North. |
It had been well for our Southern Roads,
if long ago they had been more liberal in patronizing Southern
Establishments. With but few craftsmen, ??? has generally been given
to those who are now our ??? enemies, and we hope now that all may
hereafter entertain the views espoused by you. |
Very Truly |
