Dear Sir, |
We have received from the Rogersville
& Jefferson RRd Co an order on Dr. J. W. Lewis Supt ETen & Va
RRd {East Tennessee & Virginia RR} for
an Engine which we made for the former Company & delivered them
with the understanding that if not paid for, it would be returned to
us, which contingency has arisen, & we enclose you the order with
the request that you will see Dr. Lewis for us and get him to place
the Engine under your Control Subject to our order. Our object is to
sell it at as soon as we can find a purchaser & offer it first to
you. If it suits you to purchase it or if you can find us a purchaser
the Engine need not be removed, but if you cannot dispose of it, we
think we can find a purchaser here as Engines are much in demand. We
know every thing in the Machine is of extra quality that for the size
of the Engine she has no superior. |
Please let us hear from you by an early
mail. |
Very Truly |
