| Dear Sir, |
| In reply to your inquiry as to
what had been done by certain Rail Road Company to secure the "rail road
iron under bond" upon which duties were "due to the Government of the
late United State" I would state that no action was offered or proposed
by the Companies to this Department as contemplated and provided by
Ordinance No 36 of the Convention. |
| No funds have been paid from
the State Treasury "either for principal or interest for the object
referred to in the House resolution of yesterday. |
