| Your communication of the
25th of February, requesting the appointment of an Engineer to examine
the grading and details of construction for 10 miles on the main line
of the Florida Rail Road, commencing at Waldo, the point of diversion
of the Cedar Keys extension and proceeding towards the head waters of
Tampa Bay, was yesterday communicated to and acted upon by the Board
of Trustees, and I am instructed to communicate the inclosed
resolution as the Action of the Board. |

| Resolved: That the Board of
Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund deem it proper to postpone the
consideration of the application of the Florida Rail Road Company for
the appointment of an Engineer to examine the grading, details of
construction &c in as much of said Road, as extends "from Waldo, the
point of diversion of the Cedar Key extension" in the main line of said
Road to the waters of Tampa Bay for the purpose of enabling the company
to issue Bonds, as provided by the 8th Section of the Internal
Improvement Act, in as much as there has been another Rail Road Company
chartered by the Legislature to construct a Road upon the same route;
and this Board is not prepared at this time to determine which of said
R. Road Companies is entitled to the Benefit of the said Act. |
