General,
   I enclose you a copy of communication from Commandant of the Post at Fernandina and endorsement to me by the Comdg. Genl of the Dept.
   I have ascertained that the property alluded to went north on the Schr Curlew Capt Se?ners which cleared from this port on 23d Feb.
   Her cargo consisted of 80 tons old Iron

   his vessel was cleared from this port by the Custom House authorities without first having a clearance from this office, which is in violation of the orders of the Commdg Genl of the Dept. The vessel was consigned to Lyle Rolhouse & Co New York.
   I respectfully call you attention to this transaction.
