Colonel,
   I have the honor to report that under Special Order No 114 from these Hd Qr Issued the 11th Inst directing all Quartermasters & officers of the Ordnance Department stationed at this Post to make immediate preparations to ship all stores in their charge to points beyond Chesterville {Chester} S. C. & report to these Hd Qr the amount of transportation necessary for that purpose. The following additional statement has been sent in To wit
From Capt C C Pinchney, Comdg C. S. Arsenal Columbia
40 Cars will be required to remove the Machinery & Stores belonging to the Charleston Arsenal, now at this place, of which number not less than 20 should be platforms.
30 The above is exclusive of a large assortment of pig & other valuable iron now at Columbia belonging to the same arsenal. To remove this would require (30) cars more
70 Cars total {on Charlotte & South Carolina RR}
   When other ??? are sent in the same will be promptly forwarded.
