   I recommend that you arrange with Genl Banks for the recovery of your iron {taken up by Jackson} on the line of the Winchester & Harpers Ferry railroad {Winchester & Potomac RR} without delay. If you repair the destroyed Bridges on the latter road the transportation will be comparatively easy.
   Genl Banks will give you covering parties as far towards Winchester as consistent with safety. Please attend to this at once.
