Finance Committee's Report |
|
The Committee of Finance and
Inspection of the Raleigh & Gaston Rail Road submit the following Report: |
That the books of the Company
are neatly kept, and show a correct account of the financial affairs of
the Company. The condition of the track-way and rolling stock and
bridges, is remarkably good, considering the immense amount of business
carried on during the year. |
The new Shops as far as
materials could be obtained, have been completed, and afford largely
increased facilities in keeping up the rolling stock of the road. The
Depots are in good order, or being repaired. |
The reports of the President
and Treasurer set forth the correct statement of the finance and profits
for the year, and exhibit evidences of good management in the profits
made, and at the same time with so little damage to the property of the
Company, and no accidents of a serious character. |
Respectfully submitted, |
T. B. Venable, Chairman |
