| The Board met pursuant to adjournment |

Witcher, W Palmer, R O Haskins, J. R. Edmunds |
| On Motion |
| Resolved, That motion be given by the
President of this Company calling the attention of persons who may
desire to hire hands for the work on the Piedmont Railroad to the fact
that such work is to be done and that the said President, Vincent
Witcher and Jno R Edmunds of the Directors be authorised to make
provisional agreements therefor, conditional on the same being adopted
or confirmed by the Piedmont Railroad Company when the Company shall be
organized. |
| Resolved, That the President of this
Company and Vincent Witcher and Jno R. Edmunds of the directors be and
they are authorised to employ an agent or agents to make provisional
agreements with the owners of the land along the line or lines of the
Piedmont Railroad Co for the conveyance of so much thereof as may be
required to the Piedmont Railroad Compy to him required, on the
confirmation of said agreement by the directors of said Company. |
| Resolved, That the President of this
Company and Vincent Witcher and Jno R Edmunds of the Directors be
authorised to make provisional agreements for the purchase of iron,
timber and other material for the construction of the Piedmont Railroad
subject to confirmation by the directors of the Piedmont Railroad
Company when the same are appointed. |
| Resolved, That the President of this Company and
Vincent Witcher and Jno. R Edmunds of the directors be authorised to
make provisional agreements for the purpose of purchasing whatever may
be required to the speedy completion and production of the work on the
Piedmont Railroad, subject to confirmation by the Directors of the
Piedmont Railroad Company when the same are appointed. |
