| Ordered that the Auditor issue Warrants
upon the Treasurer to pay claims against the Company when properly
certified and approved for general construction and the claims against
the Company for expenditures in the Transportation department in such
sums as may be required from time to time, to the next regular meeting
of the Board. |

| Whereas, in the opinion of the Board of
Directors, it is of indispensable necessity for the efficient working of
the Richmond & Danville rail road that the force in the work shops of
the Company shall be greatly increased in the number of
experienced workmen, and in the judgment of the Board, the regular &
continuous running of the road cannot be expected without an early
increase of such labor. |
| Therefore, be it Resolved, |
| That the President of the Company be & he
is hereby authorised & required to communicate to the Secretary of War
the urgent necessity of detailing experienced workmen, and in the event
of his refusal, the President is instructed to continue to use the means
in his power, without regard to cost to procure the services of such
labor. |
