| A regular meeting of the Board of
Directors was held this day at 10 am at the office of the company. |

| The President having submitted to the
Board of Directors propositions from Messrs Chamberlayne of England to
furnish by importation certain articles necessary for the efficient
working of the Richmond & Danville rail road, and other plans being
before th Board to effect the same purpose, on consideration |
| Resolved That the sum of Thirty thousand
dollars be & the same is hereby appropriated, and the President is
authorised to make such contracts as he may deem proper for obtaining
such articles. |
| Resolved That the sum of one hundred
thousand dollars be the same is hereby appropriated to meet, any
requisition made of the Piedmont rail road Company, upon this Company
for payment of subscription to the stock of the Piedmont rail road
Company. |
| The President is hereby authorised to
borrow on behalf of this Company any portion of said sum, and to execute
the bonds or notes of this company for the sums so borrowed. |
