| Dear Sir, |
| An emergency has arisen which requires the
return of the negroes from your County to the work of Defenses in this
vicinity. You will please send them at the earliest possible moment.
Notify Mr. J. Britt to return with the negroes if he has not reported to
his command. Also please furnish me a list of owners who refuse to send
their hands, and the number of negroes required fro each. |
