| Your letter of the 4th and the note of C.
H. Smith Esq. Secy. were received on my return yesterday. I m advised by
the Chief of the Engr. Bureau at Richmond, to postpone the contract with
your Co. until the matter of obtaining iron rails can be definitely
decided. I will advise you immediately when the decision is made. |
