| I have been ordered to repair the Geo.
Rail Road. At the suggestion of Maj Hylyer I write to ask for your
efficient Road force under Command of Capt Dooly. It is of the first
importance to the Govt to open the Rail Road line through Atlanta t West
Point. Your force will be invaluable to me in pushing this work and I am
satisfied of your desire to employ it when the general good will be most
promoted. The hands shall be paid the same rates that you have
heretofore paid. Please telegraph me your decision. |
