| The vouchers sent by you on Nov 17th were
not recd by me until after the enemy had broken the communication with
Macon. The Express Co. failed to notify me of the rect of the package
and I only learned at last by accident that a valuable package for me
was in the express office. I have paid Wadley & Co your due bill
amounting to 35,285.60 and enclose herewith a check on T. S. Metcalf C.
S. Depository at Augusta for $12,286.42 being balance of $47,554.02 the
amt of your voucher. |
