| Dear Sir, |
| In a letter recd this morning from Col. A.
F. Gilmer Chief of Engineer Bureau, Richmond, he states that you will
call on me at this place, and communicate such information in regard to
the salines of Clark Co. Ala. and results of your experience in the
manufacture of salt, as well and in materially in the examination
ordered by the Secretary of War. |
| Col. Gilmer does not mention the time when
I can see you. Your knowledge and experience in this matter would enable
you to impart in a short conversation much that I need to know. |

Duncan Esq, Cash. Atlanta Insurance Co. and inform him where I may find
you. |
