Sir,
You are instructed to select one of the Med Officers on duty at Augusta Ga to whom you will assign in addition to his present duties, that of attending the Employees of the Engineer and Quarter Master Departments.
Hospital accommodation must be furnished by the Department employing them, but the medicine can be procured on prescription at the Dispensary of the nearest Hospital, and an account kept of the same; the value of the medicine thus issued, to be estimated at half the price charged for similar prescriptions by the City Druggist. This account must be rendered monthly for payment to the officer in charge of the Employees for whom the medicine was proscribed, and the funds thus received, will be turned over to the nearest Medical Purveyor who will be informed from what source they were received.
You will furnish Capt L. P. Grant Engineer Corps and Asst Surgeon E. S. Ray Med: Purveyor Augusta Ga with a copy of this letter for their information.
Very Respectfully
Your Obedt Savannah
