Fodder Shipments for One Month

Fodder shipments to the armies were essential, especially during the winter months. Below are the Quartermaster shipments on the Richmond & Danville RR from Burkeville, Va. to Richmond for the month of January, 1864, to give some idea of the scale of the shipments from just one purchasing point. All shipments were from Capt. James J. Waggener, Fodder Purchasing Quartermaster at Burkeville, to Maj. John C. Maynard, Richmond.

The Source locations are stations on the Richmond & Danville RR.
