2 Passenger cars and 1 Baggage & Package car were built in company shops during the past year. 

The following cars were removed from service during the past year: 1 Box car (collision); 1 Box car, 1 Package and 6 Platform cars (worn out); 15 Box cars sold to the CS Government (October 1861)

22 cars are loaned to the Charleston & Savannah Railroad to carry troops and military supplies.

No new cars were built during the past year.

The following 45 cars were lost to the road: 2 Box and 6 Platform by accident; 9 Platform worn out; 5 Box sold to State of Georgia for use on the Brunswick & Florida Railroad; 3 Box sold to the Southern Express Company; 20 fitted for coal and sold to the CS Navy.

Received the following 66 cars with the lease of the Augusta & Savannah Railroad; 4 Passenger (First Class), 3 Passenger (Second Class) and Mail, 1 Baggage, 2 Package, 33 Box, and 23 Platform.

No cars were added during the past year.

At the demand of the Government, transferred 40 cars to the railroads between Augusta and Columbia. Sold 10 Box cars to Atlantic & Gulf Railroad and 12 Box and 8 Platform cars to the East Tennessee & Georgia Railroad.

The following additional 11 cars were lost to the road: 4 Box, 6 Platform and 1 Baggage and Package worn out or destroyed by accident.
